We're more than halfway to our goal over at Save ConnectiCon, and we're still going strong. Dozens upon dozens of websites all over the place have rallied behind the cause.
You are all doing such a wonderful thing, both for the webcomic community by saving a convention we love, and more specifically for Matt and Briana who would be in serious financial and legal danger if it weren't for the generosity of all of you.
I know it's easy to look at a bill of $35,000 and say "Geez, my $5 won't even dent that". But it does. Nobody is responsible for donating thousands of dollars. But if everyone just donates a few spare bucks, we'll be there in no time.
To sweeten the deal, myself and a bunch of other webcomics have put up exclusive content in the donator's section of Save ConnectiCon. If you have/do donate $5 or more, you can use your paypal email address to access a huge store of exclusive wallpapers, comics, and never before seen stuff by Ctrl+Alt+Del, 8-Bit Theater, VG Cats, Mac Hall, Konsekai Swordwaltzer, Chugworth, GU Comics and more. I've seen this stuff, and trust me, it makes me excited.
If that's still not your deal, we're auctioning off some artwork with all proceeds going to benefit Save ConnectiCon. You can find the first piece of CAD artwork up for auction here.
I am so proud to be a part of this webcomic community, to be friends with these people, and I am so proud to have fans like you. You guys rock hard.
Let's switch gears and talk about Ctrl+Alt+Del for a minute. A few of you have written me to mention that this latest storyline seems to be taking a while. Allow me to try and explain something.
When a comic is updated on a Monday, Wednesday, Friday or Saturday, it is brand new for that one single day. After that, the comic is put into the archives for the rest of eternity.
This means that when I'm writing a storyline, I have to be mindful of how it reads day-to-day while it's updating, and ALSO how it will read all at once.
Right now this storyline has been going on for over a month, and you have to wait a day inbetween each new installment. It can make it seem like it's dragging out. However, once this storyline is finished, what took over a month to get through is going to be read in ten minutes by people going through the archives.
There is a lot of detail and emotion involved with this current storyline, and once its over, CAD will be changed forever. Since right now I'm the only one who knows how the story goes from start to finish, just relax and try to understand that I know what I'm doing.

Exclusive Content for Save ConnectiCon!Friday, July 22, 2005 | 03:02 PM | by
There is now a section on the Save ConnectiCon website only for people who donate $5 or more. It's accumulative too, so if you donated $1, and then donate $4 later, you gain access.
I've put up these wallpapers, which haven't been available for more than a year, to get the Ctrl+Alt+Del section started. I will also be adding exclusive sketches and more on a regular basis until we reach our goal!
On top of these wallpapers, you can also access exclusive stuff from 8-Bit Theater, Mac Hall, VGCats, Chugworth and more!
