I have fallen prey to the hype.
Well, not the hype, per se, but I've definitely been bitten by the Emergence Day bug. Whereas I've somehow managed to keep my blinders relatively clear of Gears of War for the duration of its production, now on the eve of its release I've become really psyched. I've set aside my entire Wednesday for the sole purpose of enjoying it.
On Friday I posted the cover artwork for my upcoming comic book project, Analog and D+Pad. I got a lot of questions, so I thought today I'd try and answer some of those.
First of all, it's all-new material. It's 24 pages of new stuff, in a way you've never seen Ctrl+Alt+Del before.
The comic book follows the characters you know and love from the strip, however in an alternate universe where Ethan and Lucas are super heroes. Their personalities are the same, but their situations are entirely different. It's still a humor book, and lots of parodies, along with a healthy dose of cheesy comic book action. It's been something I've wanted to do for a long, long time, and it's been really fun to work on.
My penciller, Zack Finfrock, did a bang-up job of mixing the art style I use for CAD with some of his own artistic flair, which I think works really well for the type of book this is. I'll be posting a 6-page sneak preview of the book shortly before it goes on sale, so that you can get a better idea of what the comic is like.
The book will be going to print soon, and then it will be available in our store with the rest of our merchandise, where it will be available to ship almost anywhere in the world.
I don't have a schedule for how often the book will be released. Right now we're just going with "it's out when it's out". Print runs will be limited, and the comic books won't be reprinted or kept in stock the way we do with the collection books. When the first print run is sold, that issue is gone forever.
I'll post more about it as soon as I have a better idea when exactly Issue #1 will be available.
