The Darkness is shipping this week. I've been on console hiatus due to a LOTRO fixation, but The Darkness seems like it would be reason to give my controller some lovin'. Uhh, I mean...

Anyway, I've never read the comic book, but I can't say the idea of running around with weird, alien hell demon pets and eating people's hearts doesn't appeal to me. Who knows, perhaps the game will spur me to grab the book. I do think that the main character, Jackie Estacado, seems to have a cooler costume/garb in some of the comic book images I've seen. Though without knowing the story I guess I can't make any assumptions about why the video game went a different route. Regardless, I'm looking forward to getting my hands on this tomorrow.

Another game I'd like to get my hands on is FlatOut- Ultimate Carnage, which is an Xbox 360 exclusive this time around. And supposedly came out last week, but I can't find it at any of the online retailers I usually purchase from. In fact, I seem to only be able to find it available online from UK retailers. Which begs me to wonder if the game is only being released in the UK, but I can't find any press to support that idea. Anyone got a clue? Anyone seen it at a local retailer, stateside? Or available for online order here? The previous games, while rudimentary, were pretty damn fun for what they were. I'd love to mess with it on a next-gen system.

Edit: Never mind, apparently it's released in the UK this summer, but not stateside until December.
