I went to a little independent movie theater tonight and caught a showing of Mongol. It came out worldwide last summer, but I guess it's just making its way stateside. It's supposedly the first of what will be a trilogy spanning Genghis Khan's life. The movie was pretty good, maybe worth checking out if you like semi-historical war epics and happen to see it playing at a theater near you. I wouldn't expect to catch it at the big multiplex at your mall, though. You'll have to search for it.

George Carlin died of heart failure yesterday.
I remember the first time I heard his "seven words" bit, I was instantly a fan of his standup. He was a great comedian, and will undoubtedly be missed by many.
