A little while ago I said that I had a fun surprise for people attending Digital Overload 2011. I had to make sure that everything was on track before revealing it, but at this point I'm pretty confident that come May 27th, this project will be where it needs to be.

Digital Overload 2011 attendees will have the opportunity sign up to beta test the Ctrl+Alt+Del Board game that I've been working on for the past year or so!

I tweeted about the idea quite a while ago, and since then have slowly been developing and making progress on a playable version. I'm just about at the point where I need to put it to the real test... letting players get their hands on it... so I can see what breaks, what works and what doesn't, for the next round of polishing.

It's a dungeon-crawl type game with a strong cooperative/selfish attitude to the playstyle. If you've ever played any Munchkin game, you've got an idea of the sort of mentality the game is going for.

I'll have more information shortly as far as how Digital Overload attendees will go about signing up to test the game at the event. Now that the cat is out of the bag, I also intend to regularly show off card artwork and other game assets as I complete them. A lot of the images for the beta test will be placeholder, but I do intend to try and get some of the visual stuff done for the playtest so that people can get an idea what the game will look like.

I've been working on this for quite a while (almost too much lately to get it ready to DO2011!), and I'm really excited to watch people try it out (and break the hell out of it) this May!
